The Conference INTERCULTURAL AND INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE AND EDUCATION FOR A WORLD OF PEACE, HARMONY AND TOLERANCE was organized by the Permanent Delegation of Côte d’Ivoire to UNESCO in cooperation with Permanent Delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to UNESCO, Permanent Delegation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to UNESCO, World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB), Pure Land Learning College Association Inc. (PLLC) and the Association of Master Chin Kung’s Friends at UNESCO (PAHD). >>The conference attracted about 500 participants from all over the world.

On the three days of the conference, experiences were exchanged and various aspects of the topic had been highlighted in 8 panels.

PANEL 6 - “Oman in its efforts for Tolerance, Understanding, Coexistence” - was moderated by H. E. Dr. Samira Mohamed Moosa Al Moosa, Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of the Sultanate of Oman to UNESCO. Spreakers at the panel are Mohammed Said Al-Mamar, Advisor to the Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs and Director of the Project "Tolerance, Understanding, Coexistence Oman’s Message of Islam"; Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and advisor to BARAZA, Georg Popp, President BARAZA and Riaz Ravat, Vice-Director, St Philip’s Centre Leicester and advisor to BARAZA.

BARAZA Partner Prof. Alberto Melloni took part at PANEL 8 - “How does multi faith awareness influence Education? Sharing experiences on multi faith dialogue”. Prof. Alberto Melloni, UNESCO Chair Religious Pluralism & Peace of the University of Bologna, John XXIII Foundation for Religious Studies did talk about "How does multi faith awareness influence Education?”

BARAZA Advisor Prof. Dr. Enric Olivé Serret Director of UNESCO chair for Intercultural Dialogue in the Mediterranean and Full professor Contemporary History at Universitat Rovira I Virgili, Tarragona, Spain and Member of the advisory board of the assembly of citizens of the Mediterranean and IEMed did talk at Panel 3 about “Maintaining social harmony”.
